GLEE: Song goes gold

With their tracks selling like hotcakes on iTunes, it was bound to happen sooner or later!

The Glee cast recording of Journey's Don't Stop Believin has been certified gold after being downloaded (legally) more than 500,000 times!

Actress Lea Michele says:

"The great thing about our show is that some of the songs that we do sound very close to the original and others are completely re-done and 'mashed up.' It's great that we've brought these old songs back and we've put a new twist to them, while still honoring the amazing songs that they are."

7 of the cast recordings are on the iTunes top 200 chart and singles from Glee have been downloaded more than 2 million times! Matthew Morrison proudly states of the show:

"I feel like we're revitalizing the music industry. The younger generation hears songs they never heard before through out show. And I'll be bold as to say that I think some of the records we're doing are even better than the originals."

Volume 1 of the Glee soundtrack is out November 3rd.
